|New Release version 3.0.0
||[Aug. 31st, 2002|09:24 pm]
mIRC LiveJournal Client
I've had quite a few people contact me in the last few months saying they would like to continue working on mIRC-LJ. For one or two of them, I sent them my half-finished version 2.4.0 release, but since this seems to be a common interest I thought I'd take the time to finish it up and make one last release.
This will be the last release from me for the forseeable future. Hopefully this will give those who are wanting to have a go at adding some of the things mIRC-LJ is missing a better starting point. The most notable change in 3.0.0 is that data encoding is now handled by an external DLL and thus is much faster than in previous versions. This, among other benefits, makes the “Automatically log on when mIRC starts” option perhaps less irritating. See the changelog at the bottom of the documentation file for a more complete list of changes since version 2.3.3, the last public release.
Thank you for the new (and undoubtedly improved)
I like to combine LJ and chatting in this very nice
There is however one nagging thing:
I also love to tell people what I am listening to.
This taken care of in part. I've got winAMP and
that is somehow supported by mIRCex.
I can even find where it is alledgedly stored for collection. This however is where it goes wrong.
given in the livejournal.txt documentation file, isn't valid somehow.
I've got some disc space to work with myself, and am willing to store the file there, if you'd let me... I would at least get the chance to test the "plugin".

Re: mIRC-lj and winAMP
mIRCex was not written by me. The site of those who made it seems to now be gone. However, a search on Google for it found lots of references, so you can try this and find a copy for yourself. I no longer use mIRCex myself, so I do not have a local copy to send to you.

Re: mIRC-lj and winAMP
this might be completely off target, but i found a nice mirc script (after plenty of looking) for something that would display from winamp: the song title, (time) (bit rate) etc.. in a channel
ie : user is currently listening to aha - take on me (3:15) (192kbps) (44hz)http://www.phucknut.net/scripts/
I do not like an 10 hour period betwin friend update check. How could I change it?

Re: How could I...
The checkfriends period is given to the client by the server based on your account type. Since mIRC-LJ is inherently open-source it is obviously possible to tweak it to not honour the time given by the server, but I leave that as an exercise bearing in mind that it would be classed as an abuse and may lead to account suspension if detected by LJ staff.
I'm an avid mIRC user I try to find as many scripts for IRC so i dont have to veer from it.
=D this made my day.
Thanks for making a final release.
You can find me on ETG server irc.enterthegame.com
Usually in #SysX
, and #OurReality
You might want to change line 164 in mirclj to: return $dll($+($scriptdir,livejournal.dll),urlenc,$1-)
And if anyone's looking for a decent winamp dll for mirc, check http://www.bolt.cx/mircamp/
It's a simple DLL that runs in mIRC, NOT winamp, that uses SendMsg to retrieve information and/or control winamp.
After I try to login there is an error message like this:
* Identifier locked in options dialog: $dll (line 164, livejournal.mrc)
whats the matter and how to avoid that?
thanx in advance
Any promtingtips how make this pure design of tool
site better? I need to finish it soon :(
